Hesketh - Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
The fortunate crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in the early 1600s created what we now know as Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the most widely recognised red grape varieties in the world. Coonawarra’s cool climate and famous terra rossa over limestone soils provides ideal growing conditions for premium Cabernet Sauvignon.
Made in a bright fruit-driven style, this wine is made using predominantly older French oak barriques which leaves the tannins soft and supple to accentuate the ripe fruit notes. Producing a wine with vibrancy and depth.
Tasting Notes
A medium bodied cabernet with lots of dark fruits and cassis at the core. Savoury notes of green leaf and some earthiness balance the palate with dusty tannins providing a lingering and structured finish.
